Diary (05/09/2020)

I know a lot of you are wondering if my last story was based on real events, and sadly I have to admit that it was fiction that I was writing. While there some elements of my real life there, the events actually never took place. But, “Mark” is definitely someone who inspired that story. I don’t want to go into too many details, because it’s a private matter between myself and the other party, but rest assured that they know who they are and they were happy with the product.

One of my favorite things in the world is creating a piece of writing for one individual. I have done this for some of my readers and friends before in the past, Mainly they have been for people I have met online, either from writing on Reddit or before. You can meet some incredible people on the internet. Definitely, some of the best moments of my day are interacting with people who I have met one of the social media platforms I use.

But there is the other side of the coin. I don’t know if it is due to the coronavirus or what, but there seems to be so much negativity online when I am on. Trolls and idiots are something that we all deal with. It’s just the way of the internet. anonymity offers people the ability to be whatever they want now, no matter how horrible that may be.

Bret Easton Ellis did an interview a couple of years ago about how he would write Patrick Bateman today. He said that Bateman (who was the protagonist of the novel American Psycho) probably wouldn’t be a serial killer if he was written for the internet age. He probably would be able to enact all the carnage that he wanted as an internet troll rather than a bloodthirsty killer. I think that’s something to think about. How many people are out there causing harm on the internet because it keeps at bay some awful urge do hurt people?

One thing that can be especially heartbreaking is when you come across people who can even earn your trust and then still lash out in some form or fashion. I have come across a couple of men who have befriended me and then found some strange reason to still send some sort of unsolicited nude. I don’t see anything wrong in exchanging nudes or having fun in your DMs, but it’s really slimy to portray yourself as a “nice guy”, let someone think that you are a decent person, and then still commit some form of assault later on down the road. Also, if you have to ask yourself if sending a dick pic is assault, it most certainly is. Just because it happens behind a shiny blue screen doesn’t make it any less depressing or disgusting.

I know that I am a sex blogger as well as an erotica writer, but hell, you still want to be treated as a human being. There are a lot of folks out there that sort of just treat you as an object. I know, a lot of my stories feature that kink so why do I give off some signal if that isn’t the case, right? That is such backward thinking. People, no matter what gets them off, aren’t going to operate as machines and perform as you want. There are times where I want to be Daniele the person, and not just Daniele the erotica writer.

The majority of you, though, are amazing. You can meet some wonderful people out there, and the good ones definitely outweigh the bad. There are readers and writers out there who helped shape who I am as a writer and a person. Those are important relationships that may not have flourished before the internet age.

I loved writing the last story so I figure another one in wouldn’t hurt. I have a general idea right now, and I will be working on it Monday. Diaries and writing prompts come pretty easy, and I know there are a lot out there that appreciate them as much as the stories. As I try to get better with more elaborate tales, they take a bit longer to write, rather than the diary entries, which is usually a lot of free writing with some heavy editing put in place after.

The fiction I work on goes through some different phases. The serial is coming along but it is also a bit different than what I first envisioned. I know how I want it to end, but how to get there is debatable. I’m hoping the final product is perfect for you all because I am working hard on it.

I hope you all have a lovely Mother’s Day. Be sure you tell your mom how much you love them if you can. Not everyone has that luxury.
